The death of Eden Westbrook is the subject of considerable public and media attention. The following is provided as brief summary of the proceedings.

On 5 August 2020 Eden’s parents made an application under s58 of the Coroners Act 1995 to have the investigation into the death of their daughter re-opened and the finding re-examined.
Chief Magistrate Catherine Geason considered the matters raised and gave reasons on 1 April 2022 as to why the investigation would not be re-opened. The link to the Chief Magistrate’s decision is here.
Currently there are no legal proceedings in respect of the investigation before the Coroner’s Court.
