I, DONALD JOHN JONES, Coroner, having investigated a death of
Jarrod Keith Jones
WITH AN INQUEST HELD AT BURNIE Magistrates Court
in Tasmania
FIND THAT :
Jarrod Keith JONES died between 16:30 and 17:30 hours on the 6th June 2001 at the Heemskerk 1670 level at the Renison Bell Tin Mine, near Zeehan in Tasmania.
Jarrod Keith JONES was born in at Burnie in Tasmania on the 25th April 1978 and was aged 23 year(s).
Jarrod Keith JONES was living in a de Facto relationship and whose occupation at the date of death was a Miner
I find that the deceased died as a result of:
asphyxia having been pinned irrevocably beneath the collapsed roof of the mining vehicle which he was operating at the time when a rockfall had occurred in the area he was working
At the time of the deceased person’s death he was not being treated by a medical practitioner.
