No 4 of 2000 - Security Screening - Hobart Magistrates Court

The Magistrates Court’s Security Committee has decided to exempt legal practitioners from the requirement to submit to security screening upon entry to the Hobart Magistrates Court.

As part of the exemption, legal practitioners will however be required to show a photo ID card that will be issued by the Court administration - (NOTE: Legal Practitioners are exempt from purchasing a Court ID card if they present their Law Society ID card to security on entry to a Court building - see Circular 1 of 2012 Security ID Card Policy).

Each practitioner should submit one passport size photograph to the Hobart Court registry as soon as possible. A laminated photo ID card can then be collected within a few days thereafter.
