No 3 of 2005 - Administrative Appeals Division

The Chief Magistrate Arnold George Shott is the only Magistrate who currently exercises jurisdiction under the Magistrates Court (Administrative Appeals Division) Act 2001 in the Administrative Appeals Division, and is based in Launceston. Consequently, all applications made pursuant to that Act for review of a decision made under various Acts and Regulations, will henceforth be managed in the Launceston Magistrates Court Registry.

Practitioners are advised applications made pursuant to the Magistrates Court (Administrative Appeals Division) Act 2001, are to be filed in the Launceston Registry at 73 Charles Street Launceston 7250.

Hearings will continue to be listed in the appropriate Court location around the State as determined by the Court.

It is envisaged that this arrangement will enhance efficiency in the management of the applications through the Division.
