No 1 of 2013 - Proceedings under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth)
I, Michael Rodney Hill, as Chief Magistrate of Tasmania, make the following practice direction:
- Proceedings pursuant to section 548 of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) in the Magistrates Court of Tasmania shall be heard in the Court's Civil Division.
- The Magistrates Court (Civil Division) Rules 1998 apply, with necessary adaptations, to proceedings in the Magistrates Court of Tasmania under section 548 of the Act.
- If the manner or form of making a claim or an application or doing any other thing is not prescribed by these Rules or any Act, the Court on the application of a party may give directions as to the procedural steps to be taken.
- The following forms are approved for use in proceedings pursuant to the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth):

2. Response
3. Application and Affidavit for an Order Against an Employer / Other
This Practice Direction commences on 14 January 2013.
