Major Strategic Issues
Preservation of the independence of the judiciary is of fundamental and enduring importance to our democratic system of government so that the public can continue to be assured that cases will be considered "without fear or favour".
Against that backdrop the Court has identified, in priority order, a number of strategic issues which will be the focus of interest over the period of the Plan.
These issues are:
The need to manage the Courts professionally:
- to ensure an effective management/organisational structure
- to foster a partnership between all Court officers
- to maintain a high morale
- to be seen as accountable
- to best utilise technology
The need to improve communications:
- internally within the Court
- with Government
- with the community
The need to deliver timely, effective and efficient access to justice according to law for the community by:
- assisting the public to deal with us
- ensuring responsiveness to public needs
