No 2 of 2006 - Motor Accidents Compensation Tribunal

On 3rd July 2006, pursuant to Section 12 of the Motor Accidents (Liabilities and Compensation) Act 1973, Mr. Stephen Carey and Mr. Rod Chandler, Commissioners of the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Tribunal, were appointed members of the Motor Accidents Compensation Tribunal (MACT).

Chief Magistrate Arnold Shott, Deputy Chief Magistrate Michael Hill, and Magistrate Peter Wilson will continue as members of the MACT. Deputy Chief Magistrate Hill will continue as the Tribunal’s Chair.

With immediate effect, all references made pursuant to the Motor Accidents Compensation Tribunal Regulations 1999 for review of a determination by the Motor Accidents Insurance Board will henceforth be managed at the office of the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Tribunal at Level 4, 169 Liverpool Street, Hobart. Hearings of these matters will continue to be listed in the appropriate Magistrates Court locations around the State as determined by the Tribunal.
